Every year at the beginning of October we celebrate Harvest Festival. It is a time to notice the changing of the seasons as the summer slowly falls away and autumn is ushered in. At our Harvest Festival we thank God for the harvest and for the good food we enjoy. But we do more than that! We recognise that there are many in our community that for different reasons do not have enough food to feed themselves and their families and so we bring donations of tinned and packet food that is then shared out between food banks across the city and charities that support homeless people. During the harvest we sing some good old-fashioned harvest songs, the children will help with the service and the occasion is enjoyed by people of all ages.
This year we had over 50 donations and a special collection of toiletries that was donated directly to the Women’s Refuge in Fareham.
