The St. M’s Story

St. M’s is an events co-operative set up in the refurbished St. Michael’s Church, Paulsgrove, and is all about quality, fun and value.

During these Covid times we have had to ‘mothball’ all our activity here – BUT WE ARE PLANNING TO BE BACK UP AND RUNNING IN THE SUMMER OF 2021

The Old Church

St. Michael’s is 60 years old and really was looking a bit grotty!

The Old Studio

You won’t believe the difference!

The Old Kitchen

The Refurb

Mountjoy and Wessex Windows worked with us  to transform the ‘grotty” space into something spacious, flexible and vibrant that would be an asset to Paulsgrove.

The New Hall

And this was the result! We are so proud of our beautiful new hall!

The New Studio

This is one of our favourite rooms – we love watching kids getting crafty in the studio.

The New Kitchen

Brand new oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer, we can’t wait to start using our kitchen more!

And finally

In November the windows in the main hall were all replaced – letting in lots more natural light.

Who We Are

St. M’s is an awesome sustainable events enterprise that delivers fun events and activities for locals by locals.

We want a new way of delivering the things and values that are important in our society and we want to connect with as many of you as possible.

We want a church that is truly the heart and soul of its community.

And, we are still going to hold a GRAND SUMMER BALL for Paulsgrove, unfortunately it all had to be postponed due to the pandemic but we will now get planning for July 2022- there will be music and dancing, food and drink as we all get to celebrate how Proud we are to be Paulsgrove!

St. M’s Events

The story so far

We’ve been keeping busy since we opened at the beginning of October!

People asked for kids activities, crafts and fun, and we’ve done our best to do just that!

See pictures and details of our previous events below, and check out our Coming Up page to see what’s going on in the next couple of months.

Some of the things we get up to here – being crafty for Christmas

2019  – We’ve enjoyed doing lots of Christmas crafts this year; with our parent and toddler coffee group we’ve made fingerprint flying reindeer, peppermint cream polar bears and paper plate Christmas trees.

Then at the St. Michael’s Christmas Fayre we decorated terracotta pots to make Christmas ornaments and made sparkly snowflakes.

We look forward to doing many more crafts with you next year!

Follow us on Facebook to see all our upcoming events.

Out Parent and Toddler Coffee Mornings will return just as soon as they can.

We have a lovely group of parents, grandparents, carers and toddlers who come every Wednesday morning for coffee, chat, doughnuts and messy craft.

£1 per adult and kids go free! We’d love you to join us.

Our coffee mornings have now finished until we can safely re-open them again.

Stay well out there.

Getting down to business

When St M’s opens again mid Summer – we are planning to set up a vibrant, safe and productive co-working space – with super fast wif-fi , great coffee and tea available all day – tables will be well spaced, printing available and a friendly face to help you get settled in.

Harvest Festival Party

At St. M’s launch event on the 19th October we welcomed over 200 local families who enjoyed performances from DrumNationTribe, Urban Line Dance, Fit n Funkey and ParaSamba, shared a BBQ feast and got involved in craft activities from stress ball making to pumpkin patches – the church was filled with sunshine and laughter and the community sharing in something new – and there was even a giant unicorn.

We think it’s going to have to be an annual event!

Summer Holidays

in 2019 you may all remember we had a pop-up Horsebox cafe in the church garden every Friday during the school holidays; giving away tea, coffee, homemade lemonade and ‘Paulsgrove lollipops’ for all of you who snapped images of the St M’s boards found at secret locations around and about. Giant garden games, deckchairs to lounge in and a peaceful location to pass some time, it was lovely to see so many of you. WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS AGAIN FOR SUMMER 2021, we will keep you posted.
